Two new Foundation Apprenticeships will be available in Scotland from August/September 2018.
One is the Foundation Apprenticeship (FA) in Accountancy, which was developed by Skills in Justice. Over two years students will study a new Scottish National qualification and units from the Modern Apprenticeship in Accounting as well as completing a relevant work placement with an employer in the accountancy sector.
The FA will be offered by 12 colleges: City of Glasgow, Dundee and Angus, Edinburgh, Fife, Forth Valley, Glasgow Clyde, Inverness, Moray, North East Scotland, Orkney, Perth and West Lothian.
The second new FA is the Foundation Apprenticeship in Food and Drink Technologies, developed by the National Skills Academy for Food and Drink (NSAFD). Over two years students will study for the NPA in Food Manufacture, five units from the SVQ Food and Drink Operations (Level 6) and the Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland (REHIS) Certificates in Elementary Food Hygiene and Elementary Health and Safety.
The FA will also be offered by 12 colleges: City of Glasgow, Edinburgh, Fife, Forth Vally, Inverness, Lews Castle, Moray, North East Scotland, Orkney, Perth, West College Scotland and West Lothian.
