Children’s wellbeing is at the heart of ‘Getting it Right for Every Child (GIRFEC)’. To support the wellbeing of all children and young people it is important to consider the wellbeing indicators of Safe, Healthy, Achieving, Nurtured, Active, Respected, Responsible and Included (SHANARRI). Appropriate support should then be provided to ensure wellbeing entitlements are delivered for all children and young people.
As part of the Early Years Pastoral Notes (EYPN) system, we have developed a Wellbeing Module in partnership with East Dunbartonshire Council, Glasgow City Council, Inverclyde Council and South Lanarkshire Council, allowing children on the system to have a suitable action plan alongside their notes, with changes and views being easily tracked and updated.
The EYPN Wellbeing Module is an optional module available to customers using the EYPN system.
Overall, users can:
- Look at a Timeline – a chronological list of events between two dates, allowing information to be extracted from the child’s record in EYPN
- Create a 3-part wellbeing plan, including:
- Chronology – uses snapshots from the Timeline, allowing users to create a document containing relevant information
- Assessment - this allows users to view a child’s information and complete wellbeing indicators (linked to the SHANARRI wheel), view and edit the My World Triangle and view the Summary Analysis (GIRFEC information)
- Action Plan – where users can create outcomes and interventions required and include these in a full action plan where necessary and also link to a wellbeing plan.
