One of the NHS pillars of wellbeing is giving, so as part of our wellbeing strategy we decided this year to be Secret Santa to the fantastic children’s charity, Glasgow’s Spirit of Christmas.
It was founded in 2014 by Julie Griffin, when she learned of local children suffering hardship or living in poverty who had no gifts to open on Christmas Day. They partner with a number of charities and organisations in Glasgow and surrounding areas to ensure that so many children have a smile on their face at Christmas.
We pledged to buy gifts for eight children, ranging in age from 0-3 months right up to 16+. The whole team were right behind it and donated with generosity and enthusiasm, as you can see from the picture. These gift bags are going to the Jeely Piece Club in Castlemilk and we hope that they really make a difference to the lives of children and parents/carers.
